The PC Cricket Newsletter
My review and game cheats never get updated.
And now for the news...
13 August 98
Ok, I know this has nothing to do with cricket, but I have created a webpage that contains
links to every website that I have created. It is called DansWeb.
It's kind of like a personal homepage but not that bad :)
Also, check out SportsArena. It is a website covering
a lot of upcoming sports games, including Cricket 99.
The PC Cricket Newsletter is now a part
of SportsArena.
7 July 98
Email [email protected] and beg them to put
Player Stats in World Cup Cricket 99. Rumour has it that there won't be!
24 Jun 98
I've decided that I will no longer be paying much attention to this site, not that I've been
updating it much lately anyway. Mainly because I no longer play this game anyway - I'm sick
of all the downfalls of it and with games like Brian Lara 2 around the corner, I can wait. So
please don't bother sending in team updates, although you can still send in things like hints
& tips and Cricket 99 ideas.
It's been fun doing this site and thanks everyone who has emailed me!
2 Jun 98
Ok, there havn't been many updates here for a while but check out the files page for a new
wincrick.exe file.
On another note, the PC Cricket Newsletter is coming
along nicely with a lot of new people joining. It even got a mention in the news section of
an awesome games site, PlayNOW!
1 Apr 98
I have created a small banner that links to the PC Cricket Newsletter page. If you have a web
page and would like to link to the PC Cricket Newsletter then please visit the
PC Cricket Newsletter Page.
31 Mar 98
I am now writing a monthly newsletter regarding mainly PC Cricket games and also cricket on the
internet etc. If you would like to receive this monthly newsletter then go to
this page.
25 Mar 98
I have altered every team in the main stat.97 file in an attempt to reduce scoring rates. Please
try it out and then email me with comments as to
whether it makes a difference or if I should reduce it more etc. I also recommend that you
download the editor from the Files for Download Page and reduce the
team that you bat with even further (reduce focus (this is stamina in the editor)).
18 Mar 98
I made a new section called 'Files for Download' where you can download
some files for C97, including a spreadsheet where you can enter your own Career Stats.
Also, a page found at http://members.tripod.com/~Cricket97ATE
which took all my teams and copied some of my pages word for word has reformed! All my stuff
has been deleted and it's actually a pretty good site now, check out the records book.
15 Mar 98
The One Day World Cricket 99 page has had a major revamp (done by me actually) and is now located
at this location.
And another Cricket ATE page has been created,
Just Click Here.
9 Mar 98
I have been talking to Brenton Campion lately. He is
creating a cricket game called One Day World Cricket 99 (no way affiliated with EA)
and is using ideas from my page so it
should be a good one. Go to the web page by clicking here!
Hey there is another C97ATE web page out there called
Caught Behind. It's a cool page with
an awesome layout and he uses my teams but he actually asked! (well he doesn't anymore actually). There's other stuff there
including a multiplayer list where you can meet people to play C97 with so check it out!
And one more thing, no one emailed me with comments
about whether the new team file makes scoring too fast so please tell me what you think!
19 Feb 98
Please send me some feed back about the new team file regarding the difficulty. Has batting
suddenly become too easy? In the one game (well, 30 overs actually) I've managed to play with
these new teams (this web page takes up too much of my time) I scored at about twice the rate
of what I usually do (100 in 9.1 overs!).
Oh well, email your thoughts to me,
thanks.
Also, if you want to edit the teams and don't want to use the in-game editor, go to
this page and download the editor; it's great.
17 Feb 98
Ok, there have been some pages going up lately that have just been direct copies of mine.
They havn't asked for permission or anything and they even say it's their stuff. If your making
a cricket page, please don't just copy mine and just ignore the ones that do. It's annoying that
I spend hours of work on this page only to have someone steal it from me. I just had to get that
off my chest :)
16 Feb 98
I have made big changes to the custom teams page.
Now you download 8 teams in 1 file which overwrites the fake teams that came with the game.
Go to the custom teams page for more info.
12 Feb 98
The people have spoken and the 'News and Updates' section of the Daniel Flower EA Cricket 97
ATE Web site has been created.

(a bunch of stuff you don't care about)
This page was created just before christmas of 1997 (23 December, to be exact), because I was personally looking for a page
that had custom teams to download from but I couldn't find any, so I thought I'd make one myself.
Unless this page is viewed in 800x600 resolution at 24 bit colour it looks crap.
My email address is [email protected]
I use IRC sometimes, on Undernet in #nzteen, my nick is danman. But I don't go there anymore.
Try a Starlink server in #cricket when NZ is playing a test match. I might be there.
I don't use ICQ anymore cause it's stuffed. I don't know why. I've deleted it and reinstalled
it about 5 times, reinstalled required DLL files and stuff, downloaded both versions of it, but
will it work? Of course not. No great loss though.
I have created quite a few websites now. If you would like to see them, go to
my personal website called DansWeb.
This web site was created using Notepad except for Career Stats which
was made with Notepad and Excel, and Cricket 99 Ideas which was made
in Notepad until it got too big and now I have to use Wordpad :)
All images except for flaming ball and EA Cricket ATE logo were created by me using Corel Draw.
These pages are Copyright 1997-1998 Daniel Flower except for those two pictures
mentioned above and the few
teams not created by me. Please ask before using anything off this web site.
And there's probably more stuff that I've forgotton...
